Borgy in bar fight with ex-DSWD chief's nephew

Commercial model and television host Borgy Manotoc, son of Ilocos Norte Representative Imee Marcos, figured in a brawl with a nephew of former Social Welfare Secretary Mita Pardo de Tavera early morning Tuesday at a bar in Taguig, sending his adversary to the hospital.
GMA's evening newscast "24 Oras" reported that Manotoc, who turned 24 on Monday, got into a fight with Carlo Pardo de Tavera at the Embassy Bar at The Fort in Taguig.
Pardo De Tavera, 22, was taken to the Makati Medical Center, where he talked to reporters with his head bandaged.
Pardo De Tavera said that at the bar, he merely asked the time from a woman he did not know who turned out to be Manotoc's girlfriend, commercial model Ornusa Cadness.
He said Manotoc told him not to talk to Cadness. The two men later argued, which reportedly ended with Pardo De Tavera and his friend being beaten up by Manotoc and four others.
"I confronted Borgy and we had an exchange of words. I'm not sure exactly what, someone hit me over the head and I tried to fight back. I could hear them attacking my friend," Pardo De Tavera said.
"He and several other guys were there and he (Manotoc) punched me in the face once," he added.
Pardo de Tavera's mother, Mara, said they are considering filing charges against Manotoc.
"I stand here as a mother who is angry but still wants peace, but wants another son to learn a lesson," she said.
No less than Southern Police District head Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales ordered police in Taguig and Makati to investigate the incident.
24 Oras reported that police said they have yet to contact Manotoc.
It was also at the Embassy Bar last February where Manotoc confronted former professional basketball player Paul "Bong" Alvarez when the latter mistook his girlfriend for a waitress.
It was at the same Taguig bar where Manotoc last year figured in a brawl with singer Jay-R after the latter also talked to his girlfriend.
Manotoc is a grandson of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. -GMANews.TV
